I got this link from my sister who saw the book at Barnes and Noble. I immediately fell in love with the idea. So I Googled Douglas Gayeton and found out he was going to be in Chicago on Monday!
I dragged my friend Schuyler along before we went to watch the Packer game. (Art and football, what a great night!) He—Doug, not Schuyler—talked about the slow food movement and his time living in Pistoia, Italy. It was so inspiring to see how the idea for the project came about. So simple, yet unique, like the food talked about in the book. His experiences that go along with the photographs are priceless. That is what researching another human being, or culture reaps. Everyone has a story. You just have to look for it.
